Where We Create

Our process is something that we take great pride in. Our work is formed at a ceramics studio in Sedona, Arizona. Then, we hike batches of work out to our favorite spots to carve and paint amongst the red rocks that provide so much inspiration. You may see some of our product photos taken outdoors as well, this brings a little bit of our home, our passion for nature, and our work together into one.

âœĻ Story time âœĻ Andrew and I decided to have our first pottery sale back in July. We had the pottery sale in our driveway on a whim. We didn’t advertise. We didn’t put up signs. It was rough to say the least. I think we ended up selling one piece that day. We were both pretty discouraged. A few weeks went by and we decided to do another sale, only this time we posted it on local Facebook groups and we put up signs. We were astonished by the turn out! We sold so much pottery and got so much support from our community. The pottery sales in our driveway evolved into: this Instagram page, designing a website that will be released in January, starting an LLC, applying to artist markets, and getting to share our art with so many wonderful people. Vulnerable post: My early twenties were spent in a constant state of never feeling good enough. I thought I needed to be prettier, skinnier, faster, make more money, buy a big house, etc. Then I would be happy, right? Wrong. I spent years living in a state of burning myself out only to still be left not feeling good enough. I never gave myself time to slow down. I never allowed time for art, creativity, joy. This past year, @andrew_vernon55 and I started making pottery. If im honest, the first few weeks of going to the pottery studio I left crying and saying “I can’t do this. I’m not good at it”. Luckily Andrew pushed me to keep going. He assured me that it’s okay to be bad at something before you get good at it. Making pottery has taught me to show myself grace. It’s taught me that perfection is a lie that steals creativity. It’s taught me that it’s okay if something doesn’t turn out quite how you planned it; ceramics rarely do 😜 Don’t let the fear of being bad at something steal your creativity.
